The Holes Are Going To Go! Go Go Mozilla

Mozilla put out the updated version of Firefox version 1.0.4 and with it corrected two recently found flaws. Mozilla worked quickly to fix the problems and released the new version this week.

The flaws found last week by Secunia have been patched and sealed and the folks at Mozilla strongly urge the following to pick up the new version as a download from the website.

Firefox is an internet browsing alternative to Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). Microsoft gained a lot of momentum by putting the IE into their Windows packaging, which is the operating system on nearly all PC type computers. Microsoft got into a wee bit of trouble a few years ago for insisting that IE be in the package and competitors like the then popular Netscape took an insane beating and Microsoft almost got cracked open in an anti-trust suit revolving around that mess too.

Mozilla, in its inestimable brilliance created and open source item called Firefox (they've got others too). It's a delightful browser that doesn't have the flaws of IE. While IE has more applications, which is an advantage, Firefox doesn't have near the flaws either because hackers don't spend 24/7 trying to screw with it.

Recently, Firefox hit the 50 million-download mark and has been moving up steadily in market share to 8.69% compared to the behemoth 86.7 of IE. No small task against the Seattle slayers at Microsoft.
