Yahoo Moves Towards Online Music Service

In order to capatialize on the online music revolution, Yahoo has announced plans to launch their own online music service, starting with a search engine service to help users find information concerning artists of interest.
Currently, there are two trains of thought concerning Yahoo's upcoming music service. News.com describes an online music store similar to the Napster.com and RealNetworks offerings.
However, an alternate take from The Unofficial Yahoo Weblog envisions an impotent online search service similar to CNet's mp3.com... Meaning Yahoo's music service will be all bark and no bite, or all text and no music. This complaint is similar to the ones facing Google's Video Search, which does not return playable videos when queried, only the text from the closed captioning.
Alas, the News.com article does indicate Yahoo is eyeing a music service where users can actually purchase songs. To bolster their point, the article mentions the Musicmatch purchase, which has already been accomplished by Yahoo. The article also makes mention of Yahoo's desire to develop an audio search engine, similar to their recently launched video search service.
Whatever their goal, Yahoo is definitely eyeing the Apple/iTunes kingdom and is looking for their piece of the pie.
