The popularity levels for Mozilla's Firefox browser have done nothing but increase since it was officially launched last October.
One of the best methods for measuring the success of Internet -based technologies is by measuring the number of downloads the product has had. With this in mind, recently, Mozilla announced Firefox has reached the 25 million download plateau, with no slowdown expected anytime soon.
In regards to the browser's growing status, Mozilla gives a great deal of the credit to their "Spread Firefox" campaign, which has over 70,000 members.
Mitchell Baker, president of the Mozilla Foundation, had these comments concerning Firefox's continuing success, "Twenty five million Firefox downloads is a significant achievement, and we see that number continuing to grow. Firefox is being rapidly adopted by the mainstream, with this audience embracing Firefox as a more user-friendly web browsing solution."
